My best friend was a boy named Dwayne who lived down the street from me. When we were four, he and I seemed to be the only children on the block, but within a year, kids began popping up all over the neighborhood. Dwayne and I remained friends until we were twelve and kids started teasing us about being boyfriend and girlfriend. ...Foolishly we allowed them to get us into a big fight and we didn't speak for a year after that, and then his family sold their home and moved away. I never seen him again until twenty years later on facebook and now we laugh ourselves hysterical over how silly we were as kids!

Pretty lonely childhood.. Coming from a home with abuse, covered up, and never being sure of self and value therein only gave me great fear about friendships. In high school had a couple close friends but never shared home life with either.

Yeah, I had one. We even became blood sisters. Without the knowledge of our parents. Got in trouble for that one. But, we grew up.

I had many good friends when I started my elementary school. Also my cousins were always good friends of mine, as we grew up close and often played together.
